Why Dual Monitors?

While dual monitors are not required to use Document eSort, we highly recommend them not just in using Document eSort, but also as a tool to increase productivity in your everyday workflow.

In the end-to-end workflow, we see many uses for displaying applications side-by-side, for example:

  • Last year's return next to this year
  • Document eSort Organized  and Indexed file next to Tax Software input screens
  • Trial Balance next to tax return
  • Tax return next to tax planner

What should I buy?

There are many good options for dual monitors on the market.  We wanted to outline the specifications that work best when using them in the accounting workflow.

Dual Monitor Specifications:

19” or greater size for non-widescreen displays, 20” or greater for widescreen

At least 1000:1 contrast ratio

Response time 7ms or less

Requirements:

PC must have 2 video ports (VGA or DVI)

Display must have a connector to match the open video port

*Customers should check their PC first to make sure they have two video ports and that the display they get supports the type of free video port they have (DVI or VGA). Most displays do come with both types of connectors.

What is my next step?

Armed with the specifications above, work with your retailer of choice to find the best option for your office.
